Hermes silk twill scarf, hand rolled, 36" x 36"
Ref. H002786S 14
The collections of the Textile Museum in Lyon range from the West to the East down through the centuries. It was there that Christine Henry created this design, selecting from its endless fabric riches patterns to embellish the wings on this cloud of butterflies. Thus began the parternship, or a cultural friendship if you will, between the museum and Hermès...Now this scarf also makes a commitment, donating a portion of its sales to Switch. Established in2013 by the NGO Care France, over three and a half years, Switch will promote the consumption and sustainable production of jute products in Bangladesh. With countless ecological benefits, this plant is in increasing demand in industrialised countries. As such, it holds out great promise for the development of many Bangladeshis, especially women. Since it was created in 1946, Care France has committed to combatting poverty, and this project remains faithful to that aim endeavouring via sustainable agriculture to help a vulnerable population acheive economic independence. You can follow the development of this project should you wish on www.carefrance.org
